
Malia (MJ) Mendez (she/her)
graduated with her B.A. in English (Creative Writing Emphasis, Honors Track) from Stanford University in 2022 and is currently pursuing a master’s degree through Stanford’s graduate program in journalism. During her undergraduate years, she conducted interdisciplinary research in modernist literature, religious studies, and feminist and gender studies. She also wrote and edited for The Stanford Daily’s Arts & Life section, which cultivated her interest in entertainment journalism. She now covers Bay Area arts and culture for Stanford Journalism’s publication, the Peninsula Press. She is from Irvine, CA.
